The three local or state organizations or
communities of practice that appealed to me are:
1.      Head
Start Programs:  An office of the
Administration for Children and Families Early Childhood Learning &
Knowledge  Center (ECLKC).  http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/ohs
a.       Head
Start Programs appeal to me because they work really hard to create an
environment that is supportive of each child and their family.  The centers are very diverse and they pride
themselves in hosting instructors that speak many different languages and come
from various cultural backgrounds.  They believe
that together they can strengthen individuals, communities, programs, and
nation.

c.  NA
The Association for Childhood Education International is a wonderful organization. I love reading their publications, as it helps me stay on top of the issues and trends in early childhood education. The job posting that you have shared for ACEI actually aligns with what I would love to do once I complete my Masters at Walden. I am happy to learn that they have job postings on their website, because I did not know that! Thank you for sharing!

Amelia,
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what the challenge was for your capstone, but i know that the office of head start will be a valuable resource to you. In this website you can find information that focuses on different areas within early childhood, for example they provide resources for training staff and parents. They even have a page where you can read about the success stories of families that have been served by the office of head start. This will be a very valuable resource for this course.
