What an overwhelming topic!  Research Journey is exactly how it sounds; like a JOURNEY!  When I think of a journey, I think of an adventure into the unknown.  Although it may not be unknown to all; it is unknown to me.  The research topic that I have chosen is Homogeneous Grouping.
In week one when we were asked to think of a topic that we would like to research, my topic choice was long and drawn out because I had no idea of how to simplify and narrow the title.  I am really appreciative that we have each other (and or professor) to help us narrow our thoughts and be more direct with our focus; and undeniable resource benefit.  This topic is an area that I am faced with everyday in my FDH (Family Day Home) settings, and also with my day-to-day activities with regards to my place of worship and my everyday activities and group associations.
Cultural diversity is a slow process within my current environment.  It has been said that the community here is moving right along rather rapidly.  I beg to differ.  The concept of unity here is more construed than I have ever witnessed.  I was able to study in our previous class (Issues and Trends) that it could be worse; but the truth of the matter is, "It is still bad".
Have any of you found yourself in a new environment that you initially think is awesome; only to develop the exact opposite feelings towards your new adventure?  If so, what were some of the reasons you had a change of heart and what were you willing to do about it?
